About the Artist
Art has been my locus from the beginning. It was through travel, not only to see, but to experience the art of many people and cultures. Yet, some of my favorite influences are those closer to home such as regular family Sunday museum outings to New York City. This environment created my appreciation and reverence for art as a powerful avenue of communication.
From this broad introduction, my work pulls in a variety of materials such as colored pencil, graphite, fiber, paint, clay and bronze. Stylistically, I feel that classical figurative drawing informs both my abstract and non-objective work. This creates an underlying structure in my pieces that can be perceived as either linear, imagined or psychic. In particular, I am fascinated with the psychic bonds between beings, and it is that inter-connectedness that inspires much of my work.
